What I have learned so far:
I clean my tank panes bottom 2/3 only. It keeps the limpets at the top away from hungry crabs.
I put frozen food into a sideways pickle jar – the “Blennie diner”. All the animals have been in it including cowries, bat stars, Bay Blennie and I’m sure all my crabs. It keeps the food in one place.
I feed my Sea Hare while he is balled up at the top – the Norri sheets float and he immediately munches on them. I used to put these in a clip but the sheets get soggy fast and would break apart by the time he would get to them.
I give the crabs 1/2 of a frozen shrimp, then remove it after a few hours.I use what looks like a toilet brush to clean the skimmer – does a great job.
I use a sponge on the windows.
I provide plenty of collected kelp for my urchins so they don’t eat the the established and growing kelp in the tank.
Cooling any water before adding is a great idea from this site.
Bubbles on skimmer should come up around the neck of the skimmer.
My future plans include:
An Octopus.
A male Bay Blennie for my female.
A warty sea cucumber.
Then,
Blue banded Catalina Gobies.
A blood sea star.
More Giant Green anemones.
Establishment of strawberry anemones (mine are present but not thriving yet).
An area in tank where I can raise very tiny creatures without them getting sucked into the filters, like Blennie babies.
