Baby Weedy Seadragons Hatched
For the first time ever, Birch Aquarium has bred and successfully hatched two rare Weedy Seadragons. Birch Aquarium is now one of the few aquariums in the world to hatch this unusual fish. The inch-long babies display the characteristic camouflaging appendages of the elaborate adult Weedy Seadragons in miniature. This is a great step forward for our conservation programs and we are incredibly proud of our Husbandry Team! The babies are living behind the scenes and are not currently on view to the public.
